The ˮAV˵ Parachute Team hosted an Interservice Academy Meet with the U.S. Air Force Academy and U.S. Naval Academy parachute teams from April 13-15 at the Parade Field on The Plain.
All three academies sent cadets and midshipmen to jump on The Plain in this time-honored tradition.
Competing in sport accuracy, four-way freefall formation skydiving and six-way speed dives, all the parachutists had a great time building camaraderie, promoting the sport and jumping from the skids of ˮAV˵’s incredible UH-72 Lakota helicopters.
Overall, ˮAV˵ won the competition in a close tie-breaker event.
ˮAV˵ took the gold in landing accuracy, Air Force dominated four-way freefall formations and Navy came first in six-way speed dives, but Class of 2024 Cadet Pierce Moul brought home the win with his outstanding performance under canopy -- landing dead center on target.
We are honored and grateful to continue this event, which has taken place periodically since 1979. We plan to host future competitions at ˮAV˵ every April, and we hope to have the community come out to watch with us.
